Disqualified?!?!

I finally received my judges' sheets from the Amateur Pie Championships on April 24th and I was disqualified. Apparently all the judges trying my pie were under the impression that an Apple Mango Pie is a Peach pie. The rules of the pie championships state that peripheral ingredients can be used as long as the main ingredient is apple (because it was the apple category). 3 cups apples, 2 cups mangos, soaked in apple juice, with an apple chip crust would taste like peach right? I didn't fly across the country to be disqualified for something that isn't even true. Now I can understand if the judges came to this decision because it was a mango pie, but by thinking that it was a peach pie it threw off their whole perception of the pie. One judge didn't even taste it because he's allergic to peaches. There were no peaches! Peach had its own category and is a common fruit used in pie, mangos not so much. My thought was to compliment the apple flavor with the novelty of mangos which aren't seen in pies often, but because the judges thought they were peaches I got screwed. What was the point of submitting my recipe? The American Pie Council can go to hell. I already emailed them and am awaiting an apology and explanation until then I will not support them. Sorry no pie today, but after finding out all this I really wasn't in the mood.

My scores really suffered because of this.

Oh I'm sorry that you're alergic to peaches. Hey why don't you have a slice of this delicious Apple Mango Pie I've created? 12 points!

Sangria Pie

Yeah I'm speechless too. Idiot judges.
